Crossing Repair and Maintenance Program


Assistance to landowners in the repair, replacement, upgrading and maintenance of crossings within the ACD district.

Subject to available funding, the program will provide materials required for residential, agricultural, commercial, etc. crossing projects within the district. ​​.

   

Beaver Damage Mitigation Strategies


Assistance to landowners in controlling beaver populations and damage. These strategies include a Bounty Incentive program and a beaver dam leveling program.

The ACD contributes to a beaver bounty incentive program offered by the RM`s of Alonsa and Lakeshore. 

The district also offers pond leveling services to residents of the area who are dealing culvert blocking due to beaver dam construction.

The district will also remove beaver dams from order in council drains as required through effective and cost efficient means.

Abandoned Well Capping Program


Assistance to landowners in sealing wells that are no longer in use for water supply purposes.

Subject to available funding, the program will provide all materials required for the proper disinfecting, filling and sealing of approved abandoned wells in the ACD area.

​​Forage Seed Assistance


A rebate program designed to assist land owners in protecting marginal or erosion-prone areas by establishing permanent forage cover.

Landowners are eligible for Forage Seed Assistance  to a maximum of 50 acres each year.  Cost is shared by the Province and Municipal Levy contribution obtained through the ACD general budget.  A rebate of $15.00 per acre will be provided  upon a proof of purchase ending September 30th to a maximum of $750 .
